Description

Join us at Rossmill Woodland for a practical conservation work party!

Rossmill is a 17 acre site principally composed of Semi Natural Ancient Woodland on the sloping Northern bank of the River Bollin below Hale Barns. Rossmill Woodland was the first site managed by the Bollin Valley Partnership. Two areas of grassland within the wood are managed as wildflower meadows, with the grass being cut and removed in late summer or early autumn to stop the grasses becoming too dominant over the flowers.

We will be working in partnership with the Bollin Valley Partnership Rangers at Rossmill Woodland to manage the wildflower meadows.

This work party will run from 10am-3pm and we will be meeting at the entrance to Rossmill lane.

Bring lunch and your own work gloves if you have them, and please wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear. Long trousers and sleeves are recommended!

The session is outdoors so make sure you have waterproofs and sun protection as needed. Please also make sure you bring enough water and food to keep you going throughout the day.
