Mersey Estuary Blueprint
Project aim: To develop a Blueprint for the Mersey Estuary
Mersey Rivers Trust is bringing together local leaders in coastal, catchment and marine partners to form a local working group. This project is working alongside the North West Coastal Forum and the Coastal Partnerships Network.
The aim of the group is to co-design a national framework to streamline the communication and implementation of Government strategies for a wholescape approach across catchment, coast and marine.
Mersey Rivers Trust through this project is establishing a stakeholder group who together have been reviewing various plans and strategies from the last 30 years. The group is now developing a "blueprint" for the future of the Mersey Estuary.
In the Mersey Estuary there have been five major documents which have helped shape the existance, monitoring and develop in the estuary zone.
A future Mersey Estuary Blueprint will need to include new elements to safeguard against the pressures of the future.
Stakeholders interested in forming the Mersey Estuary Group to develop a future 'Blueprint for the Mersey Estuary' have been consulted and will be updated through ongoing communications.
We are now engaging with stakeholders to commision the new 'Blueprint'.
