Mersey Rivers Trust staff went to St Cecilia's Junior School in Liverpool on Monday 2nd March to talk to Year 4s about why rivers are important, what pressures they face and what they can do to help keep rivers healthy. We also took along some invertebrates from a local brook, including Cased and Caseless Caddis, Olive Baetidae and Freshwater Shrimp. The children loved looking at them and identifying the different species. Great to see so many kids enthusiastic about the environment!
We will be back there on 25th March as guest judges when the children present their ideas about river conservation at the end of the topic.
