We just completed two days hot hot work in the sun on the River Irk - over 100m of riverbank restoration -- brushwood faggots secured, replanted, re-seeded, leaky dams repaired and our stickleback lagoon enlarged.... many thanks to Michael Cummings at Rochdale Council and to all our volunteers for their help...... this was our first ever foray into river bank re-engineering and with their help its been a great success - and hopefully the first of many projects to restore the unsympathetic riverbanks of rivers in Greater Manchester Merseyside and Cheshire....... we will be announcing full details of another river bank restoration day on the Irk Tuesday 19th June.
