Tree Planting at Pott Shrigley, SK10 5RX – meeting point tbc

Working on the roadside site (more sheltered, very short uphill walk on tarmac road from parking)

This tree planting will support the work that was undertaken last year to build leaky dams and create natural flood management opportunities.  This was done to hold back water in small brooks and streams high up above Pott Shrigley, near the source of the Bollin, and in periods of heavy rain, have worked to prevent flooding in homes and businesses.  By planting trees in this location, it is hoped that as they reach maturity, the trees will also absorb and holding back more water.

Shiers Drive Car Park

Merser Rivers Trust and Groundwork will be hosting a balsam bash on the Micker Brook in Cheadle, meeting at Shiers Drive car park next to Brookfields Park at 11am on Saturday 19th June. Join us to learn more about invasive, non-native species (INNS) and to help reduce their spread along the Micker Brook and the surrounding area.
